What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Assist attorneys in the comprehensive management of personal injury cases, including gathering and organizing client information, medical records, and all relevant evidence, guiding cases from inception to resolution.
• Document Preparation & Filing: Draft, meticulously review, and accurately file a broad range of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, detailed discovery responses, and professional correspondence with state and federal courts, ensuring full compliance with court rules and strict adherence to deadlines.
• Client Interaction: Maintain consistent and empathetic communication with clients, providing timely updates, proactively gathering necessary information, and responding to all inquiries with the utmost discretion.
• Legal Research & Strategy Support: Conduct thorough legal research to effectively support case preparation and contribute to the overall strategic development and defense of each case.
• Trial Preparation: Provide essential assistance in preparing for trials, which includes organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and meticulously creating comprehensive trial binders and other necessary materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a legal or related field, providing foundational knowledge for a litigation support role.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of proven paralegal experience, specifically gained within a personal injury law firm or closely related legal environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of personal injury litigation processes.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability for a laser-like focus on attention to detail, strong organizational skills, proficiency in legal research, expert document preparation, precise data entry, effective scheduling, and the ability to maintain meticulous case files while handling sensitive information with discretion.
