The Tone:
This is a litigation paralegal role at WGK Personal Injury Lawyers, located in Baltimore, MD. The firm, established in 1977, is a multi-generational, family-run practice specializing in personal injury law. This position is crucial for supporting attorneys in active personal injury lawsuits, primarily focusing on auto accident and premises liability cases in Maryland state and federal courts. The role is vital in guiding injured Marylanders through the legal process to help them recover from their injuries and receive the compensation they deserve.

• Mission: This person supports attorneys in active personal injury lawsuits by managing discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and overall case administration.
• Tech Stack: Filevine, Claude, CoCounsel, Microsoft Office
What You’ll Actually Do
• Discovery Management: Draft, serve, and respond to all discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission, while also managing document productions and coordinating depositions.
• Motion Practice & Court Filings: Draft various motions, oppositions, memoranda, and proposed orders for attorney review, then prepare and e-file all necessary documents in Maryland state and federal courts.
• Trial & Mediation Preparation: Build and organize comprehensive trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness files, and compile mediation/arbitration packages for high-value cases, including damages summaries.
• Case & Docket Management: Maintain organized active litigation files within Filevine, schedule hearings, expert conferences, and case management calls, and communicate professionally with all involved parties regarding procedural matters.
• Legal Technology Application: Utilize AI drafting tools to accelerate discovery responses, document review, and leverage AI for legal research and initial motion frameworks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience, with a strong preference for plaintiff-side personal injury.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience managing active discovery in Maryland state courts and supporting trial preparation, including exhibit management and trial binders, along with familiarity with Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure and e-filing requirements.
• Skills: Excellent written communication and drafting skills; ability to manage multiple active files under deadline pressure with minimal oversight; advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Bonus: Comfort using AI drafting and research tools (prior experience preferred, genuine willingness to learn required); Filevine or comparable case management system experience preferred; Workers’ compensation litigation experience is a strong plus.
