What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Provide comprehensive in-person tax preparation and filing services for individuals and small businesses, meticulously utilizing Intuit’s proprietary tools and platforms.
• Compliance & Optimization: Review various financial documents, including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, and receipts, to accurately identify all eligible deductions and credits, ensuring full compliance with current federal and state tax laws.
• Client Advisory: Advise clients on effective tax strategies and planning opportunities, explaining potential impacts of significant life events on their tax situation and recommending Intuit solutions that align with their financial goals.
• Issue Resolution: Verify the accuracy of prepared tax returns, efficiently resolve any discrepancies encountered, and skillfully respond to basic IRS or state tax notices on behalf of clients.
• Record Management & Education: Maintain detailed and secure client records within Intuit systems, rigorously protecting sensitive data, and educate clients on the benefits and usage of Intuit products like TurboTax and related financial solutions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a valid Licensed Tax Accountant credential, complemented by a CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) certification. Possess a deep and current knowledge of federal and state tax codes and regulations, specifically covering individual income tax preparation (Form 1040 and schedules) and small business/self-employed tax preparation.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with advanced tax preparation software, preferably Intuit/TurboTax ProSeries/Lacerte, coupled with extensive experience in financial document analysis. Required skills include high data entry accuracy for electronic filing (e-file) processes.
• Skills: Expertise in client interviewing and comprehensive needs assessment, robust tax research capabilities utilizing IRS publications and authoritative sources, meticulous documentation and record-keeping within secure systems, and fundamental advisory skills in tax planning and deduction strategies.
