Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | PCH Princeton Community Hospital

The Tone:

Our hospital provides vital healthcare services within the community, and this position plays an essential part in supporting physicians and delivering direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient setting. This role is crucial for ensuring patient comfort and progress toward functional health.

• Team: 11 PCH Nursing Orthopaedics; consults with a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist.
• Mission: To provide essential nursing support and direct patient care to promote comfort and functional health within an inpatient setting.
• Tech Stack: Computer systems used by physician offices and hospitals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Care: Provide direct patient care as outlined in the patient’s plan of care or as directed by an overseeing role.
• Collaboration: Consult with Registered Nurses or Respiratory Therapists for guidance in delivering nursing care.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Accurately observe, record, and report patient concerns, symptoms, reactions, and progress to the overseeing role in a timely manner.
• Medication Administration: Accurately and safely administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, IV, oral, nebulization, and/or MDI delivered medications as assigned.
• Documentation: Document nursing interventions and patient responses to care, communicating effectively with the healthcare team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which services will be provided, or a current multi-state LPN license through the eNLC. Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: No minimum experience required.
• Skills: Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads, excellent written and oral communication skills, skilled with computer systems, and ability to function as a team member.
• Bonus: One (1) year of clinical experience is preferred, along with completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation.
