Legal Intern | Zealot

The Tone:
This is a paid internship at Zealot, located in New York City. Zealot builds AI systems that find zero-days, emulate target devices, and develop working exploits for U.S. defense and intelligence customers. This role is crucial for supporting the company’s immigration and visa needs, while also providing broad exposure to various legal matters essential for a growing startup. The intern will gain hands-on experience with meaningful legal work, rather than just administrative tasks, in a high-caliber environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Immigration Support: Support visa and immigration application processes, including document collection, intake coordination, status tracking, and application preparation.
• Legal Coordination: Work with employees, candidates, internal teams, and external counsel to keep legal processes organized and progressing efficiently.
• Documentation Management: Help maintain legal trackers, templates, and internal documentation across various legal areas.
• AI Integration: Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve legal research, document organization, drafting workflows, and internal processes.
• Broad Legal Assistance: Assist with employment-related legal work, contract review and management, corporate legal matters, and other privacy, compliance, and IP needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Finishing a law degree or in the final stage of legal studies.
• Experience: Prior exposure to immigration law through coursework, clinic work, externships, or internships is a strong plus.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, highly organized with deadline management, clear and professional written communication, discreet and trustworthy with confidential information, and curious about AI for efficiency.
• Bonus: Startup-minded, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a desire for broad exposure to startup legal issues.
