Lead Product Manager, Enterprise AI & Automation | Marqeta

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Marqeta, located remotely in the United States. Marqeta is a card issuing platform that enables companies to issue cards, authorize transactions, and manage payment operations in real time, powering well-known brands in embedded finance. This role is crucial for identifying, governing, and scaling AI and automation across the organization, driving internal productivity and efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Define Enterprise AI & Automation Strategy: Collaboratively define Marqeta’s Enterprise AI & automation strategy, including responsible AI principles, governance frameworks, and a multi-quarter adoption roadmap.
• Prioritize AI Initiatives: Design and lead the Plan and Commit process, prioritizing high-value AI and automation use cases based on strategic alignment, risk reduction, and ROI.
• Manage AI Platform Delivery: Oversee the delivery of internal AI/automation platforms, from defining requirements and participating in sprint demos to coordinating deployments and establishing hypercare.
• Evaluate and Manage Vendors: Evaluate emerging AI technologies, conduct pilots, lead vendor selection and commercial negotiations, and manage ongoing vendor relationships for Enterprise AI tooling.
• Drive AI Adoption and Change: Own and execute the Enterprise AI rollout plan, drive change management, and establish an internal AI organizational capability for knowledge sharing and peer-led adoption.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 7+ years in IT product management, with at least 2 years focused on AI or emerging technology products, demonstrating a product mindset for internal tools.
• Experience: Proven experience delivering internal AI systems, platforms, or automation workflows that drive measurable efficiency for employee populations, along with managing product backlogs and roadmaps.
• Skills: Genuine understanding of AI capabilities (summarization, classification, generation, agentic workflows) and the ability to translate that into business strategy; strong prioritization instincts and the ability to make hard calls; demonstrated ability to influence without authority across diverse stakeholders; comfort operating hands-on with AI tooling.
• Bonus: Experience with no-code/low-code AI platforms (e.g., Workato, or similar), and Fintech or regulated industry experience.
