Job Description: Land Internship

The Land Internship at Devon is designed for students seeking to learn and apply land management principles within a professional office environment. Interns will engage in both team and individual assignments, gaining practical exposure to real-world tasks and projects. The program’s goal is to foster the development of technical and professional skills while allowing students to explore potential career opportunities within Devon.

Key Responsibilities of the Intern:

Interns will apply energy management principles to a variety of assignments, including:
• Conducting title research utilizing courthouse records, online resources, and internal databases.
Evaluating and securing surface and subsurface rights.
Preparing and analyzing leases and other related agreements.
Monitoring regulatory activity and filings, specifically with the OCC and TXRRC.
Reviewing title opinions and curative documents.
Calculating working and net revenue interests.
Proposing operations (such as workovers and recompletions) to interest owners.
• Utilizing GIS and various data sources for data quality initiatives.
• Assisting land staff with assigned projects as needed.
• Applying technical skills acquired in college to real-world scenarios.
• Demonstrating advanced computer proficiency, with an emphasis on optimizing and automating processes.
• Displaying curiosity and eagerness to explore AI, data, and technology, with opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and innovations.

Education Requirements:
• Must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in Energy Management, Business, Communications, or other related disciplines.
• Expected Graduation Year: December 2027 through May 2028.
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
