Key Account Manager | Marqeta

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Marqeta, located remotely anywhere within the United States or from their Oakland office. This role is key to managing strategic accounts, driving growth, and addressing customer needs through insightful solutions and data-driven strategies, while also driving innovation in the industry.

• Mission: Manage strategic accounts to grow revenue, ensure smooth partnerships, and innovate in the payments industry by delivering insightful solutions and data-driven strategies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Management: Manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, ensuring partnerships and programs run smoothly and successfully.
• Revenue Growth: Maintain and grow revenue by identifying and pursuing new upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the customer base.
• Client Collaboration: Collaborate with Account Executive partners and cross-functional teams to provide exceptional client service and deliver workable solutions.
• Performance Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis to identify macro, business, technology, and pipeline trends for key customers.
• Strategic Communication: Develop and deliver high-impact presentation materials for QBRs, Executive Briefing Decks, and process outlines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree; Senior career level with core domain knowledge in managing strategic accounts and navigating the payments landscape.
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of related experience in strategic account management, with proven ability to take ownership of projects and drive initiatives to completion.
• Skills: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, IF statements, SUMIFs); strong organizational and documentation skills; proactive self-starting ability with a curious approach to problem-solving; effective relationship building and internal navigation for timely solutions.
• Bonus: A deep knowledge and fascination with disruption in the payments space.
