Junior Windows Systems Administrator | Leepfrog Technologies, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Leepfrog Technologies, Inc., located in Coralville, IA. Leepfrog Technologies provides its CourseLeaf software to over 500 colleges and universities for managing academic catalogs, curriculum, scheduling, registration, and syllabi. This position is a crucial member of a collaborative, hands-on team, supporting the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and management of new and existing on-premises and cloud-based IT systems, applications, tools, and services that enable the company’s operations.

• Team: Member of a team, reports to Director of IT
• Mission: Supports the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and management of new and existing on-premises and cloud-based Information Technology (IT) systems, applications, tools, and services.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft server technologies (Active Directory, Hyper-V, IIS, SQL), Mobile Device Management (MDM), Microsoft 365, SaaS applications, security applications, firewalls, databases, PowerShell, CLI-based tools, Windows, macOS, Linux.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Infrastructure: Support and manage on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including Microsoft server technologies, MDM, Microsoft 365, and solutions for software distribution, patch management, and security.
• Deploy & Maintain Endpoints: Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows, macOS, and Linux workstations, along with VoIP, IoT, and mobile devices, performing routine patching and ad hoc updates.
• Monitor System Health: Perform daily system monitoring, review logs, verify system integrity and security, and ensure the completion of scheduled jobs and delegated tasks.
• Provide Technical Support: Assist with employee IT requests and provide Tier II/III troubleshooting and hands-on support for end-user devices, peripherals, and workstation-level issues.
• Ensure Compliance & Document: Create and maintain documentation for configurations and troubleshooting, while ensuring infrastructure implementations and software comply with policies, standards, and licensing agreements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a technical major such as computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 2+ years of work experience in IT roles that involved desktop/server, networking, and end-user support.
• Skills: Experience with PowerShell scripting; experience with Windows Server and Active Directory (users, groups, policies, permissions); working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems; basic understanding of patch management tools and processes; and an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall concepts.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Windows security baselines, compliance frameworks, and patch management policies; strong troubleshooting skills for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems; competency with Bash scripting; working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration; and experience with automation tools, CLI-based administration, and on-premises enterprise systems and software deployment solutions.
