Junior Trader, Corporate Credit
Guggenheim Investments is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Trader to join its Corporate Credit trading desk in New York City. This full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity for a professional with a foundational understanding of financial markets to develop specialized expertise within the dynamic leveraged loan market. Reporting directly to the Senior Bank Loan Trader, the Junior Trader will be an integral part of a collaborative team, working closely with credit researchers and portfolio managers daily, and regularly interfacing with the sell-side market.
The successful candidate will play a crucial support role in the execution of bank loan trades, contribute to strategic portfolio positioning, and conduct essential market analysis. This position is ideal for someone looking to deepen their understanding of credit analysis, corporate finance, and risk management within a leading asset management firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assistance to senior traders in their day-to-day activities, ensuring smooth desk operations.
- Serve as a primary liaison for new deal announcements and information from issuing banks, disseminating critical intelligence to the research team, portfolio managers (PMs), and the investment committee.
- Generate and distribute daily reports on portfolio cash balances and current portfolio holdings, providing essential data for decision-making.
- Efficiently manage the Indication of Interest (IOI) process once credit approvals are secured from the investment committee.
- Accurately process trade tickets for both primary and secondary market transactions.
- Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between the trading desk, portfolio managers, and the central allocations team.
- Provide up-to-date market levels for individual securities to support the PMs and research team.
- Execute odd lot and smaller trades, demonstrating attention to detail and market awareness.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in one of the following areas:
- Bank Loan Markets
- Trading Desk operations
- Financial Analyst role within an Asset Management, Financial Services, or Private Equity environment
- Demonstrated competence in financial instrument structuring and documentation.
- Proven expertise in conducting due diligence.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Bloomberg, Aladdin, WSO, or similar financial platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience with a strong background in credit analysis and corporate finance.
- Risk Management Acumen: Possesses a strong understanding and appreciation for risk management principles, ensuring sound decision-making and strict compliance with regulations.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively produce, articulate, and present complex credit-related materials to both internal stakeholders (e.g., investment committee) and external parties.
- Process Improvement: A proven track record of collaborating with internal teams to identify opportunities for streamlining processes and enhancing operational efficiency.

Salary Range:
The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $115,000.00 and $140,000.00. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors such as location, relevant experience, and qualifications. The stated range reflects base salary only; the total compensation package may also include additional components such as incentive compensation.
