The Tone:
This is an early career role within the Information Technology department, located in Overland Park, Kansas, with a hybrid in-office schedule. This position is vital for maintaining the smooth execution of daily IT operations, providing essential technical assistance to employees, and ensuring efficient system and user lifecycle management. The Junior Systems Administrator directly supports the company’s productivity by resolving technical issues and facilitating seamless IT processes.

• Mission: Provide Level-1 technical support across various IT domains to ensure smooth operations and efficient end-user assistance for hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Tech Stack: Windows operating systems, macOS (basic), LAN/Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VPNs, remote access tools, helpdesk ticketing systems, Microsoft 365 services (preferred), Active Directory (preferred), endpoint management tools (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• End-User Support: Provide comprehensive L1 technical support for a variety of end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, and associated peripherals, ensuring minimal downtime.
• System & Software Management: Install, configure, and troubleshoot issues related to Windows operating systems, with basic support for macOS, and provide ongoing support for standard business software applications.
• Hardware & Asset Lifecycle: Perform essential hardware setup, upgrades, system imaging, and device replacements, while also maintaining accurate IT asset inventory records and comprehensive documentation.
• User Onboarding & Coordination: Play a crucial role in supporting new hire onboarding processes, managing employee offboarding procedures efficiently, and coordinating proactively with end users for system setup and issue resolution.
• Network & Remote Assistance: Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues, encompassing LAN/Wi-Fi, TCP/IP configurations, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and deliver effective remote support to users.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, with foundational knowledge of computer hardware components, Windows operating systems, and basic networking fundamentals.
• Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in IT support or an L1 technical support role, with hands-on experience installing and providing support for Windows OS environments and standard business applications.
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, practical experience utilizing remote support tools and helpdesk ticketing systems, excellent verbal and written communication, and a strong customer service orientation.
• Bonus: An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field, industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+, and exposure to Microsoft 365 services, Active Directory, or endpoint management tools.
