What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Closing: Contribute significantly to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, helping to compile and review financial data for accurate reporting.
• Transaction Processing: Accurately prepare and post a variety of journal entries, and meticulously perform bank and complex account reconciliations to ensure the consistency and reliability of financial data.
• Operational Support: Provide essential support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, meticulously maintaining and updating the general ledger to reflect all financial transactions.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively research and efficiently resolve accounting discrepancies and variances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to maintain data integrity.
• Compliance and Projects: Systematically gather required documentation for audit requests, ensuring strict compliance with company policies, established accounting standards, and internal controls, while also assisting with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, making this role ideal for an aspiring entry-level professional ready to embark on their accounting career.
• Experience: Possesses 0–2 years of practical accounting experience, with valuable internship experience strongly considered, demonstrating an initial understanding of accounting practices.
• Skills: Demonstrates a basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); is proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the effective use of formulas and pivot tables for data analysis; exhibits strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities; possesses excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks; maintains strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration; and has the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and consistently meet established deadlines.
• Bonus: Prior experience with ERP or accounting software, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics, would be highly advantageous; and some exposure to month-end close and financial reporting processes is a plus.
