Junior Staff Accountant | Kariba Ventures

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site Junior Staff Accountant role located in Irvine, CA. At Kariba Ventures, you will be instrumental in supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring financial accuracy. This position is vital for maintaining organized financial records, assisting with compliance, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our finance function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Operations: Support the smooth and efficient execution of daily accounting operations.
• Financial Processing: Accurately post journal entries and manage the processing of accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile bank and credit card statements, and prepare essential basic financial reports.
• Closing Activities: Diligently assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Compliance & Support: Ensure compliance with internal controls, gather documentation for audits, respond to information requests, and collaborate with senior staff to improve finance processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Possess a strong foundation in basic accounting principles and practices, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis. Prior experience from internships or entry-level accounting roles is beneficial.
• Skills:
• Detail Orientation: Exhibit high attention to detail and ensure accuracy in all data entry tasks.
• Organizational Prowess: Demonstrate strong organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
