Jr. Staff Accountant | Socket Fiber

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Entries: Assist with daily accounting entries and ensure general ledger maintenance.
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Closing Processes: Support both month-end and year-end closing activities.
• AP/AR Support: Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and organize financial reports and schedules.
• Audit Assistance: Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
• Compliance Review: Review expense reports for accuracy and adherence to company policy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience; basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience: Familiarity with accounting software. Internship or previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping is a standout preferred qualification.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial work, excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.
• Bonus: Prior experience using Sage, QuickBooks, Xero (or similar accounting software) is highly preferred; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas); exposure to month-end closing activities; familiarity with audit preparation or working with external auditors.
