Junior Project Manager | VetsEZ

The Tone:
This is an early career at VetsEZ, located remotely within the continental US. VetsEZ supports complex, mission-driven federal programs, and this role contributes to the efficient execution of these vital initiatives. As a Junior Project Manager, you will support senior project and program managers, playing a key part in the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities. This position offers a foundational opportunity to grow within a structured Project Management Office (PMO) environment and contribute to important government projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Activities: Assist with day-to-day project management across various projects or workstreams.
• Maintain Plans: Help create and keep current project plans, schedules, and task tracking documents.
• Monitor Progress: Track project milestones, action items, potential risks, and identified issues.
• Document Work: Prepare and maintain essential project documentation, including status reports and meeting notes.
• Coordinate Meetings: Organize and facilitate project meetings, stand-ups, and reviews with team members and stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) for an early-career project management professional.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience supporting projects or operational initiatives, with an understanding of core project management concepts such as scope, schedule, risks, and dependencies. This includes hands-on experience with project tracking or collaboration tools like Jira, MS Project, SharePoint, or Confluence.
• Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and details, excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Bonus: Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies, prior experience supporting federal or government IT projects, or holding a CAPM or other entry-level project management certification (or coursework towards one).
