As a Junior Pet Stylist, you will begin a ten-week training journey to learn fundamental grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, and nail care, gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned groomers. What You’ll Actually Do
• Initial Grooming Services: Under the close supervision of experienced groomers, perform fundamental grooming tasks including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, adhering to pet parent instructions and company policies.
• Pet Safety and Comfort: Consistently ensure the well-being and safety of every animal entrusted to the salon, handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy throughout their grooming experience.
• Client Engagement and Support: Interact professionally and effectively with pet parents, delivering optimal customer service by addressing grooming-related inquiries and providing timely resolutions to ensure satisfaction.
• Salon Hygiene and Maintenance: Maintain a pristine and safe grooming environment through diligent disinfection and sanitization of grooming tools and equipment, performing daily and weekly cleaning duties as per Petco’s hygiene standards.
• Administrative and Learning Duties: Manage grooming appointment schedules, complete necessary paperwork, maintain accurate grooming records, and actively participate in a ten-week training program to develop essential grooming skills and meet productivity goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career role requiring a genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming.
• Experience: 0-1 year of animal-related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting.
• Skills: Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy; effective verbal and written communication for interactions with pet parents and grooming team members; basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices.
• Bonus: High-school diploma or GED is preferred; prior grooming salon assistance is preferred.
