This is an early career position at Leidos, located remotely. This role supports the daily operations of AWS cloud infrastructure and assists with enterprise job scheduling and automation, ensuring the health, security, and availability of critical cloud environments and scheduled workloads. You will learn and develop skills under the guidance of senior team members, focusing on operational support and routine maintenance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• AWS Infrastructure: Assist with provisioning and basic configuration of AWS resources such as EC2, S3, IAM users/roles, and VPC components, and perform routine system health and storage usage checks following established standards.
• Workload Automation: Monitor TWS/IWS job streams, report failures or delays, perform basic agent health checks, restart services using documented procedures, and assist with simple job definition updates under supervision.
• Security & Compliance: Apply IAM policies and access changes based on approved requests, assist in reviewing security findings from tools like AWS Security Hub, and adhere to established security and compliance procedures.
• Incident Response: Perform first-level triage on incidents and service tickets, gather logs and diagnostic information for escalation, and resolve routine issues using documented runbooks.
• Operational Efficiency: Support cost monitoring efforts by identifying underutilized resources, assist with basic scaling actions under direction, execute scheduled backups, and help with routine disaster recovery tests and documentation updates.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust, and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years for CMS programs. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 1–3 years in IT support, system administration, or cloud support roles, with exposure to AWS through coursework, labs, or professional experience.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, foundational scripting skills (Bash or Python), and familiarity with cloud concepts such as IAM, compute, and storage.
• Bonus: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, exposure to automation tools like Ansible or CloudFormation, and basic awareness of TWS architecture, terminology, and support for daily operations.
