Overview: Junior Associate
The Junior Associate will play a critical role in evaluating and interpreting electronic documents. This position demands a meticulous approach to quality, ensuring documents are accurately assessed for relevancy and privilege on various document review projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing comprehensive first-line review of electronic documents to determine relevancy and privilege, specifically for high-profile clients and complex legal cases.
- Demonstrating the ability to quickly grasp and understand intricate subject matters and legal concepts relevant to the review projects.
- Ensuring all projects are executed in strict adherence to client requirements and industry best practices, consistently meeting specified job specifications and deadlines.
- Identifying and logging key documents within the designated review tool, promptly communicating these findings to the Team Lead.
- Maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and adopting a “first-time right” approach to minimize rework and enhance efficiency.
- Undertaking other special tasks or duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability within the project team.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel: Essential for data management and analysis during document review.
- Availability: Must be available to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as project demands require.
- Pressure Management: Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and successfully meet tight deadlines.
- Team Collaboration: A proactive team player who contributes positively to the overall team environment.
- Detail-Oriented & Analytical: Possesses keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills for precise document evaluation.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree is mandatory.
- eDiscovery Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of eDiscovery principles and the methodologies of Document Review Projects.
- Experience: 0-1 years of experience in the eDiscovery field, making this an ideal entry-level opportunity for aspiring professionals.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial for effective team collaboration and reporting.
