Junior Accountant | Edlong Corporation
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Edlong Corporation, located in Elk Grove Village, IL. The Junior Accountant is critical for supporting the daily financial operations of the organization and developing a strong understanding of its financial framework. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely transaction processing, and upholding internal controls. It is specifically designed to build foundational accounting knowledge and prepare the employee for advancement within the Finance organization.

• Team: Works within the Accounting and Finance department, reporting to senior accounting team members and collaborating with the Finance Operations Coordinator and VP of Finance & IT.
• Mission: To support daily accounting and finance activities, ensuring accurate financial records and timely transaction processing while building foundational accounting knowledge.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook), Accounting and internal business software.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Manage vendor invoice processing, coding, approvals, and resolve vendor issues efficiently.
• Accounts Receivable: Generate accurate customer invoices, monitor billing activity, and support collections efforts.
• General Accounting: Perform precise account reconciliations and prepare routine journal entries with guidance.
• Financial Support: Assist with cash management, bank deposits, and facilitate the annual audit process.
• Professional Growth: Develop comprehensive accounting experience and proficiency in financial systems and tools.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, or an Associate degree with relevant accounting experience; coupled with an understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including the ability to apply accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to communicate professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Bonus: Internship experience in accounting or finance. Experience with ERP systems, expense management software, or financial reporting tools. Knowledge of SAP Concur & SAP Intacct.
