What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Reconcile: Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain: Help maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Report: Contribute to the preparation of internal financial reports and support external audit requests.
• Improve: Identify process inefficiencies, propose improvements, and partner cross-functionally with business unit leaders to understand the “why” behind the numbers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, conferred within the last 12 months, for an early career role.
• Experience: Strong academic record. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and the ability to quickly learn advanced functions. Working knowledge of AI and a desire to build further capabilities.
• Skills: Strong analytical mindset and genuine curiosity about how businesses operate. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial variances to non-finance managers. High attention to detail and personal accountability for your work.
• Bonus: CPA-eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure. A demonstrated perspective on where AI can responsibly support core accounting work, with specific examples of using AI tools in coursework or internships and actively checking output. A proactive approach to staying current with new AI tools, using them to improve processes, asking “why” before “what,” and speaking up when spotting discrepancies.
