Junior Accountant | 24 Seven Talent

The Tone:
24 Seven Talent is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant for a client organization. This role focuses on supporting the essential day-to-day accounting operations, which include assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. The position is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This individual’s contributions will directly support the operational efficiency of the organization and the broader accounting team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Assist with day-to-day accounting activities, prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation, and maintain accurate financial records within the general ledger.
• Reconciliation & Verification: Perform comprehensive account and bank reconciliations, investigating and communicating any discrepancies or issues identified.
• Process Management: Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reviewing invoices, expense reports, and other financial documentation for accuracy.
• Reporting & Close: Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, and help prepare financial reports and schedules.
• Audit & Analysis: Support the accounting team with audits, other financial requests, and perform ad hoc accounting and financial analysis as requested, while maintaining organized accounting files.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (preferred), or relevant academic experience, demonstrating a basic understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience: 1–3 years of prior accounting or related professional experience, with internships also considered; practical experience with general ledger accounting, performing reconciliations, and preparing journal entries is essential.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS; strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial documentation; excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team collaboration.
• Bonus: Experience specifically supporting month-end close processes; experience with detailed account reconciliations and variance analysis; familiarity with established accounting software platforms like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar systems; proven ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a broader finance and accounting team.
