Judicial Clerk I | Colorado Judicial Branch

The Tone:
This is a part-time, hybrid role for the Colorado Judicial Branch, requiring approximately 10 hours per week, including weekends and some state holidays. The Judicial Department works to provide equal access to justice, contribute to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law across Colorado. This entry-level position is crucial for supporting the weekend operations of the Bond Hearing Office 3, ensuring impartial and timely dispute resolution and support for families and litigants.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Support: Assist customers with paperwork, answer questions, review court forms for completeness, and assign case numbers.
• Case Processing: Receive and process incoming correspondence via email, mail, e-filing, and in-person filings, including docketing new cases and processing pleadings.
• Data Management: Maintain case documentation and update the case management system, ensuring data integrity, processing bond forfeitures, and entering transcript requests.
• Financial Transactions: Accept and process payments via cash, check, and credit card for court fines, fees, and bonds, then reconcile cash drawers and prepare daily deposits.
• Order Issuance: Issue orders and notices from the court, such as case deadlines and new case filings, ensuring service to all necessary litigants and courts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience: No prior work-related experience is required, as this is an entry-level position within a progressive job series.
• Skills: Clerical support, customer service, data entry and management, and fiscal responsibility including cash handling and balancing.
