The Tone:
This is a contract role at Careersoft USA, located in Arlington, VA. This position seeks an experienced full-stack Java Developer to join our team for a 12+ month engagement. You will be instrumental in an Agile Squad, contributing to the development and maintenance of robust, high-quality applications. The role involves ensuring secure and highly available systems, adhering to best practices, and actively exploring new technologies and frameworks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Development: Act as a full-stack developer within an Agile Squad, building and integrating Java-based applications.
• Quality Assurance: Actively participate in code reviews and design discussions, enforcing development best practices to ensure high-quality, robust deliverables.
• System Integrity: Understand and implement security guidelines, troubleshoot and resolve critical issues, and help improve overall application development standards.
• Collaboration: Contribute to all sprint ceremonies including grooming, planning, and daily stand-ups, share knowledge, and demonstrate developed features to business stakeholders.
• Innovation: Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) projects to research and facilitate the adoption of newer technologies and frameworks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A full-stack developer with 5-7 years of experience in Java development, eligible to work under USC, GC, GC EAD, or TN visa status, on a W2 basis.
• Experience: Hands-on experience in Java full-stack development, including building and integrating multi-threaded, highly available applications. Extensive practical experience operating within an Agile framework and adherence to its methodologies.
• Skills: Proficiency in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services for robust backend development. Practical experience with DB2 and other database interface layers. Demonstrated effective communication skills, enabling collaboration across business users and IT teams, with the ability to lead IT deliverables. A solid understanding of agile development methodologies, coupled with knowledge of DevOps practices and tooling.
