Itinerant Resident Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) | Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC)

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC), located in Bethel, AK. YKHC is a Tribal healthcare organization dedicated to achieving excellent health for nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska, serving villages ranging from 10 to over 1,000 residents. This position is vital for providing regular “float” coverage to village clinics, ensuring access to primary (acute, chronic, and preventive) and emergency healthcare services for individuals in remote communities. By making a meaningful impact on public health, this role directly supports YKHC’s mission of “Working Together to Achieve Excellent Health.”

What You’ll Actually Do
Mission Contribution: Actively contribute to the core mission of YKHC, which is focused on achieving excellent health for the region’s population.
Village Clinic Coverage: Provide essential and regular “float” coverage to YKHC village clinics across the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, as assigned.
Comprehensive Healthcare: Deliver a broad spectrum of primary healthcare services, including acute, chronic disease management, and preventive care.
Emergency Care Provision: Offer crucial emergency care to individuals who are seeking health services within the village clinic settings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training program.
• Experience: Received and maintained certification and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, coupled with the necessary skills and knowledge to practice medicine within their specialty area. Must also possess or obtain an Alaska License, DEA license, and National Certification for credentials.
• Skills: Proficiency in computer skills for accessing electronic medical records.
