Wonderful Scholar Summer Internship, IT | Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds

The Tone:
This is a temporary summer internship at Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds, located onsite in Lost Hills, CA. Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds is the world’s largest vertically integrated pistachio and almond processor, based in California’s Central Valley. The company utilizes advanced technology to sort, grade, process, roast, flavor, and package billions of nuts annually for consumers globally. This role is crucial for providing essential IT support to company staff and contributing to a key process improvement project within the IT department, directly impacting departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This role provides technical support, resolves IT issues, and works on a designated project to improve departmental processes and efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide Technical Support: Offer technical assistance to company staff and troubleshoot computer and system issues.
• Assist Production Areas: Provide support for all IT-related needs in production areas, following Standard Operating Procedures for daily tasks.
• Manage User Requests: Track, log, and manage user requests and issues in a ticketing system, prioritizing and escalating as necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
• Configure Devices: Assist in configuring desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices for users.
• Implement Improvements: Work on a designated project aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness, collaborating with team members to implement and test process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be a Wonderful Scholar enrolled in the College Success program and be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience: Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Applications.
• Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in data collection and analysis tools, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish
