This is an internship opportunity with Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT), a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs. FPT stands as one of North America’s premier entities in the processing, buying, selling, and recycling of diverse scrap metals, acting as a crucial supplier to the broader metals industry across North America. As a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs, FPT is part of the largest flat-rolled steel company and iron ore pellet producer in North America, boasting vertical integration from raw materials to final steel products. This intern role is vital for collaborating with internal teams to distill complex information into clear, organized content, directly supporting the company’s daily efforts to maintain a strong brand image, consistent messaging, and robust online visibility.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Development: Organize and develop comprehensive content from collected information, suitable for both internal and external company communications.
• Website and Digital Channel Management: Assist in updating website content by adding and editing text, images, and important announcements, and help ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all digital channels.
• Social Media and Online Engagement: Maintain and update the company’s social media platforms, including drafting and scheduling posts, and monitor online reviews, comments, and engagement, flagging items as needed.
• Digital Footprint Optimization: Support efforts to enhance the company’s overall online presence and visibility, including reviewing and accurately updating Google Business listings and other online directories.
• General Project Support: Assist with various general marketing, communications, and research projects as assigned, contributing to diverse team initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student or entry-level professional with a High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent professional experience including 1+ years as an equipment operator. Must possess an interest in digital content and communications.
• Experience: Comfortable operating in a professional environment, demonstrated by experience in coordinating meetings and supporting information-gathering discussions, coupled with familiarity using social media platforms.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication with keen attention to detail, proven ability to organize and synthesize complex information into clear content, strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Bonus: Experience with content management systems or website editing tools.
