About the Role: IT Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an IT Intern, reporting to the Senior Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations. This paid summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a highly collaborative environment within the biotech industry.

This 10-week program provides meaningful, real-world experience across various critical IT functions, building a strong technical foundation for a future career in enterprise IT. The IT Intern will support Digital Workplace experience, IT Asset Management, and Cybersecurity initiatives, while assisting with day-to-day IT operations.

The role includes hands-on experience with enterprise endpoint management platforms such as Jamf (for Macs) and Microsoft Intune (for Windows), providing exposure to modern device management and security enforcement practices.

  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Dates: June 8 through August 14
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Location: Onsite at our San Francisco facility
  • Compensation: $22 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Your work will primarily encompass:

  • Assist with hardware and software setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and employee support.
  • Support the IT ticketing system by responding to and documenting requests.
  • Document IT procedures and update knowledge base articles.
  • Maintain and validate hardware and software inventory records.
  • Support asset lifecycle processes, including deployment, tracking, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Support software license tracking and reporting efforts.
  • Contribute to improving asset management workflows and documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing security alerts.
  • Support vulnerability tracking and remediation of vulnerable endpoints.
  • Assist with endpoint security enforcement and configuration management initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated student studying Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate program or 2026 graduate, required.
  • Currently a standing junior or senior, required.
  • Currently majoring in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, required.
  • Basic knowledge of networks, operating systems, and security tools, required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, required.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 20lbs) as needed, required.
  • Coursework in networking, systems administration, or cybersecurity, preferred.
