About the Job
The BAE Systems IT Internship Program offers a broad and integrated understanding of enterprise-level service delivery. This comprehensive program spans 12 weeks, providing hands-on experience supported by dedicated mentors and Service Leaders. Multiple positions are available, catering to a diverse range of skillsets including: software development, building reusable automation, system architecture, data engineering, graphic user interface design, end-to-end user experience, and other project-related work.
As an intern, you will be an integral part of our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, known as LEAP. This program provides unique opportunities to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within BAE Systems. You will gain access to a wealth of additional benefits, such as:

This internship is scheduled for the summer of 2026, with an expected duration of 12 weeks. Exceptional performance during the summer session, combined with the discretion of the leadership team, may open the possibility of extending the internship to a part-time role during the subsequent school year.
Program Details & Logistics
- Program Length: 12 Weeks – commitment required for the full duration.
- Internship Dates: May 26th – August 14th, 2026.
- Work Environment: Hybrid model, requiring 3 days per week onsite at a BAE Systems site in Nashua, NH.
- Student Status: Open to Rising Juniors, Seniors, Recent Graduates (within one year), or Graduate Students (Graduating May or Dec.).
- Compensation: The internship is paid on an hourly basis.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal intern should be able to perform the following tasks:
- Perform data analysis and extract useful business insights.
- Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations, and help influence the direction of the business by communicating results to cross-functional groups.
- Suggest improvements in the tools and techniques to help scale the team.
- Experience working effectively in an agile environment with distributed teams.
- Help develop an internal wiki for cross-training purposes within SharePoint/Teams.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Major Degree: Computer Science / Information Technology / Cybersecurity / Data Science / Information Systems.
- Demonstrated experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches (or equivalent).
- A curious, self-driven, and analytical mindset, with an enthusiasm for working with data.
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
- Student Status: Rising Junior, Senior, Recent Graduate (within one year), or Graduate Student (Graduating May or Dec.).
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Well-qualified candidates may possess some of the following skills:
- Knowledge of security tools such as Splunk, ArcSight, Nessus Security Center, CrowdStrike, CyberArk, etc.
- Comfortable performing system administration on a shell/command line interface.
- Development experience in at least one scripting language (e.g., R, Python, Bash, Java, PowerShell).
- Ability to update and validate Software install/support documents.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle: gathering requirements, refining design, building, verifying, and validating builds.
- Familiarity with eDirectory, Identity Management Concepts, DevSecOps Environments, Linux OS, or Active Directory.
- Familiarity with one or more UNIX operating systems, such as RedHat.
- Experience with User Interface redesigning, wireframing, freehand mockups, and testing practices.
- Collaboration skills with UX Designers, Content Strategists, UX Writers, Product Owners, Data Analysts, and Developers.
- Machine Learning experience.
- Ability to multi-task and reprioritize work as required to meet the demands of a dynamic customer service environment.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills at all levels.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $49,592 – $68,993
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
