Information Security Intern | Stride, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an internship at Stride, Inc., located remotely. Stride, Inc. is involved in creating products for education, and this role is crucial for assisting with the security of its information and operations. This internship contributes to the foundational operations of the information security program, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and industry best practices. The Intern will help identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to user access and identity information, collaborating with various internal teams.

• Mission: To assist with the operations of an information security program, ensuring alignment with Stride’s Corporate Policies and industry best practices, while identifying and assessing user access and identity information.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Risk Mitigation: Function as part of the Corporate Information Security team to identify, assess, and help mitigate information access risk within day-to-day business operations.
• Best Practices: Apply information security best practices and techniques effectively within the corporate environment.
• Access Profiles: Assess identity and access profiles to ensure they are aligned with corporate policies.
• Governance Support: Assist with other information security governance and compliance functions as needed.
• Project Assistance: Support various departmental projects, ranging from administrative, clerical, and support-level tasks to more hands-on tactical work based on business needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma AND currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field of study. Ideal candidates are rising juniors, seniors, or Spring graduates, or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Foundational understanding of information security and risk management. Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively in a team environment.
• Skills: Self-motivation with a strong work initiative, attention to detail, strong customer service, critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, interpersonal, observational, listening, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and general web proficiency. Ability to clear required background check.
