Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern | Leidos

The Tone:
This is an internship at Leidos, located remotely. Leidos is an industry and technology leader that provides smarter digital and mission innovations for government and commercial customers. This role is crucial for supporting the US Navy SMIT MC&O Team by driving automation and process improvement. The intern will enhance internal tools, streamline workflows, and integrate AI to automate manual processes, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a government contracting environment.

• Role: Internship
• Location: Remote
• Pay: $48100–$86950 yearly
• Team: SMIT Marine Corps & OCONUS (MC&O) team, working directly with MC&O leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Mission: Enhance and integrate internal tools, streamline workflows, and leverage AI to automate manual processes for the US Navy SMIT MC&O Team.
• Tech Stack: JavaScript, Visual Basic/VBA, Python, Excel, Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint

What You’ll Actually Do
• Integrate: Enhance and integrate reporting tools, automation, and AI solutions to improve team operations.
• Maintain: Maintain and improve internally developed tools to ensure their effectiveness and functionality.
• Analyze: Develop or support tools designed to analyze data and identify similar or analogous tasks for process optimization.
• Research: Conduct targeted research on technical services to support automation efforts and identify new opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Practical experience applying AI or generative AI tools to solve business or analytical problems, and experience working with automation tools, data repositories, or legacy systems.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills, including proficiency in advanced formulas and macros; demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task and self-assign work; must be a US citizen and able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
• Bonus: Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Visual Basic/VBA, and/or Python; familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, Power BI, or SharePoint.
