The Tone:
This is an internship at EGIS Careers, located in New York, NY, designed with the intention to convert into a full-time Analyst role before the end of the calendar year. EGIS Careers represents an independent investment banking firm focused on providing mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services to founder-owned and entrepreneur-led businesses. This role is crucial for delivering senior-level attention and rigorous execution to business owners navigating significant growth and evolution. The Intern will gain significant responsibility, direct client exposure, and meaningful involvement across all transaction stages within an entrepreneurial culture.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution: Lead execution workstreams for sell-side and buy-side M&A, debt placements, and equity capital raises.
• Process Management: Manage daily transaction processes and coordinate activities among clients, buyers, investors, legal teams, accountants, and other advisors.
• Financial Modeling: Build, review, and maintain sophisticated financial models including three-statement operating, DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, LBO, and accretion/dilution analyses.
• Valuation Development: Analyze historical and projected financial performance to identify key value drivers and develop comprehensive valuation perspectives and recommendations for clients.
• Marketing Material Creation: Independently prepare and oversee the creation of Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, teasers, pitch books, and investor target lists.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduate or current student planning to graduate in May 2025, December 2025, or May 2026, with a strong foundation in financial modeling, valuation, transaction execution, and marketing material development.
• Experience: Minimum of two deal-facing investment banking internships within the United States OR 6+ months of full-time Investment Banking Analyst experience, demonstrating execution of M&A and/or capital raising transactions from initiation through closing.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and valuation methodologies, coupled with the ability to independently manage substantial portions of live M&A and capital raising engagements and maintain exceptional attention to detail and client service.
• Bonus: Experience advising founder-owned, family-owned, or entrepreneur-led businesses, exposure to lower middle market and middle market transactions, experience mentoring Analysts, and familiarity with financial databases like Capital IQ, PitchBook, FactSet, or Bloomberg, or progress toward CPA/CFA designation.
