The Tone:
This is an Investment Banking Analyst Internship at EGIS Careers, located in New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement for Fall 2026. EGIS Careers operates as an independent investment bank, dedicated to advising founder-owned and entrepreneur-led businesses on critical corporate finance transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises. The role is significant as it provides hands-on exposure to live transactions and business development, enabling interns to directly support strategic advice and execution for business owners during growth and transition. What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution Support: Support the execution of live mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory engagements across various industries for lower middle market to middle market clients.
• Financial Modeling & Valuation: Assist in building and maintaining comprehensive financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses, and merger models, to assess company performance and potential transactions.
• Valuation Analysis Preparation: Prepare detailed valuation analyses using multiple methodologies such as comparable companies, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow (DCF).
• Marketing Material Development: Develop essential marketing materials, including pitch books, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and comprehensive buyer/investor lists.
• Research & Due Diligence: Conduct thorough industry, market, and company research, analyze financial statements, and assist with due diligence processes and transaction management activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field, demonstrating strong academic performance.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or mergers and acquisitions. Prior internship experience in investment banking, private equity, valuation, corporate development, or consulting is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.5 GPA, proven experience building financial models and performing valuation analyses, familiarity with financial statement analysis and accounting concepts, and experience using research platforms such as Capital IQ, PitchBook, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
