This is a full-time role at a leading US Investment Bank, located in Houston, TX. The firm is actively expanding its highly specialized Energy team, which is well-regarded for its deep industry expertise and long-standing relationships with top institutional investors and corporate clients. This position, open at the Analyst, Associate, or VP level, is critical for supporting the team’s continued growth, contributing to the origination and execution of complex deals, and leveraging the extensive network of senior advisors. The role directly impacts the firm’s reputation for successfully closing a high volume of transactions, even amidst volatile market conditions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Support: Support senior advisors in the comprehensive origination and execution of deals across the team’s various product areas.
• Transaction Execution: Lead the execution of live deals by conducting thorough financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence in support of transactions.
• Team Management: Oversee and mentor the junior pool of Analysts within the Energy team, fostering their professional development.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for pertinent internal teams and external parties involved in deal processes.
• Material Drafting: Prepare essential marketing materials, including Investment Memorandums, Rating Presentations, and Pitch Books.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree, and/or an MBA from a top-ranked institution, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, or an equivalent academic area.
• Experience: Possess at least one year of relevant professional work experience in M&A, A&D, Corporate Development, or Reservoir Engineering, coupled with exposure to the Energy sector and practical experience in financial analysis, valuation, and due diligence for relevant projects.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, alongside the capability to work effectively autonomously or as an integral part of a wider team, with competency across the Microsoft Office suite.
