Investment Banking Analyst | Cohen & Company Capital Markets
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Cohen & Company Capital Markets, located in New York City. Cohen & Company Capital Markets (CCM) is a rapidly growing boutique investment bank established in 2021, specializing in providing expertise to clients navigating challenging markets and complex transactions, particularly in emerging products and industries. This Analyst role is critical to the firm’s mission of disrupting the traditional investment banking landscape, requiring the individual to drive impressive growth, lead transactions, and contribute significantly to the continued success of the expanding team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of companies, transaction structures, deal activity, and corporate filings, contributing actionable recommendations to senior bankers.
• Support Management: Support the management of the buyer/investor interaction process and coordinate due diligence requests.
• Modeling & Valuation: Conduct comprehensive company valuation, financial performance analysis, and develop industry-specific valuation analyses such as public comparable companies and precedent transactions.
• Transaction Scenarios: Model complex transaction scenarios and manage financial modeling efforts.
• Client Materials: Create essential materials for Board meetings, client presentations, and support due diligence efforts, while assisting in advising on transaction structure and valuation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting, Finance, Economics), Technical Sciences (Engineering, Physics), or Liberal Arts, with a preference for a strong academic record.
• Experience: Relevant professional experience in Investment Banking, specifically within M&A, private placements, and/or equity capital markets; experienced Analysts will be expected to immediately contribute to and lead multiple live deals.
• Skills: Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and an entrepreneurial mindset; exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities with strong quantitative/technical skills and meticulous attention to detail; excellent writing and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, FactSet, and Pitchbook.
• Bonus: Specific product experience in equity capital markets, private capital raises, or M&A advisory; demonstrated maturity, presence, and poise suitable for client-facing responsibilities; possession of Series 63, 79, and SIE licenses at the time of hiring or shortly thereafter; must have US work authorization and be available to work onsite in the NYC office.
