Job Description: Internship – Major Capital Projects (MCP)
Major Capital Projects (MCP) has overall responsibility for the design and construction delivery of the Midtown Bus Terminal Replacement Program, the construction management of the core and shell of the new Hudson Tunnels for the Gateway Development Commission, planning for the Cross Harbor Freight Program (CHFP), and other projects assigned to it.
Responsibilities: This internship will focus on the Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement Project and will include:
• Attending and documenting planning, engineering, and stakeholder coordination meetings.
• Reviewing and tracking budget, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Reviewing and researching the development of innovative sustainability and construction methods.
• Reviewing and tracking the development of conceptual, preliminary engineering, and construction documents.
• Reviewing and tracking the development of planning reports.
• Preparing presentations.
Qualifications:
• Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester.
• Major in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Urban Planning is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Internship Details:
• Start Date: Thursday, May 29, 2025
• End Date: Friday, August 22, 2025 (approximately 12 weeks)
• Schedule: Full-time (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day), hybrid format.
