Major Responsibilities:

  • People Management:
    • Communicate specific and measurable performance standards to associates.
    • Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers.
    • Provide constructive counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed.
  • Operations Excellence:
    • Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to boost productivity in dispatch and warehouse operations.
    • Provide crucial relief coverage for operational duties during associate time-off or absence.
    • Develop a strong working knowledge of the site’s operating systems to ensure operational compliance and effective exception resolution.
    • Complete all necessary records and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Financial Acumen:
    • Ensure strict compliance with financial policies and procedures, including inventory accuracy and control, returns, and damages.
    • Develop a clear understanding of the relationship between operational decision-making and overall profitability.
  • Safety Leadership:
    • Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are fully aligned with the location’s safety strategy.
    • Provide associates with essential communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance.
    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures.
  • Growth & Customer Experience:
    • Understand the location-specific customer goals and objectives.
    • Identify areas ripe for Continuous Improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Fleet & Asset Utilization:
    • Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective and efficient use of fleet and warehouse equipment.

Intern Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a related business degree.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be entering their junior or senior year of college.
  • Ability to commute to the operation daily.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use proprietary software.
  • Ability to lead a small team.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Strong ability to execute tasks and plans.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop positive working rapport/relationships within the department at all levels.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional growth; receptive to feedback and developing self-awareness.
  • Results-oriented with keen attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • “Blue collar” work experience.
  • Flexible to rotate through different shifts to gain comprehensive experience.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher.
