Job Description
This is a virtual and unpaid internship for an International Reporter Intern at _Modern Treatise_.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cover international content for one of six designated regions: Africa, the Caribbean Islands, India, the Middle East, Oceania.
• Write a weekly column focusing on the chosen region.
• Provide special region-related coverage.
Duration:
• The internship lasts for 6 months.
Nature of the Internship:
• It is a virtual position.
• It is an unpaid internship, offering valuable writing experience.
Start Date:
• ASAP.
Location:
• The internship is virtual, meaning location is not required. However, residents of Metro New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Chicago are strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
• The candidate must be adept at reporting on one of the five specified regions (Africa, Caribbean Islands, India, Oceania, or the Middle East).
• Strong understanding of political philosophies over mere political talking points.
• Ability to analyze geopolitical subject matters from multiple perspectives.
• Proficiency in relying on fact-based evidence, not political or activist wish-thinking.
• Capacity to write as a neutral reporter.
