Internal Business Associate | John Hancock

The Tone:
This is a full-time, new graduate role at John Hancock, located in Boston, MA, with a hybrid work arrangement. This role is crucial for supporting financial advisors, contributing to the growth of their businesses, and increasing John Hancock Investments’ assets under management by providing strategic insights and product expertise. New graduates have an exciting opportunity to become licensed financial professionals within this team.

The TL;DR

• Team: Partners with Internal Business Consultants and the Sales Management Team.
• Mission: Support financial advisors in growing their business and increasing John Hancock Investments AUM by providing strategic analysis, insights, and product expertise.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Relationship Management: Establish and nurture relationships with Internal Sales Management and Internal Business Consultants.
• Market Analysis: Conduct research and thoroughly analyze competitor products to understand their interaction with client portfolios.
• Sales Support & Insights: Partner with Internal Business Consultants to provide reporting, analysis, and insights to registered representatives, identifying investing opportunities and market issues.
• Operational Improvement: Work alongside Internal Business Consultants to unveil opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internal Sales Desk.
• Client Engagement: Serve as the priority point of contact for inbound sales inquiries and potential client relationship development opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Commerce, Economics, Analytics/Mathematics/Statistics, or a similar program; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Desire to acquire sales experience within the financial services industry. Completion of Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses required within 120 days of hire, with all costs, training, and study time during business hours covered.
• Skills: Proven relationship management skills, including the ability to work in a team environment; strong time management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Bonus: Completion of the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam is preferred. Validated curiosity about Capital Markets. A positive attitude.
