What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Execution Support: Assist Internal Audit staff with the comprehensive execution of audits across various ESD departments, including critical areas such as Finance, Treasury, and Loans & Grants.
• Program and Operations Evaluation: Participate in the process of evaluating the effectiveness of diverse programs and operational procedures within departments undergoing audit.
• Financial Risk Assessment: Actively contribute to identifying potential financial concerns and thoroughly assessing the associated financial risks present within ESD’s operations.
• Professional Skill Development: Engage in activities designed to develop crucial professional competencies, including honing risk management capabilities, strengthening problem-solving approaches, and enhancing communication skills relevant to an audit setting.
• Concern Identification: Focus on identifying areas of potential concern during audit reviews, providing support to the internal audit team in flagging critical issues for further investigation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career individual currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance. This foundational educational pursuit is essential for understanding the core principles of internal audit.
• Experience: This role is specifically designed for students to gain their initial hands-on professional experience within an internal audit environment, therefore no prior specific professional experience is required.
• Skills: Demonstrated foundational understanding of core accounting principles and a grasp of key finance concepts, as acquired through academic coursework.
