Fund Accounting Internship | Standish Management, LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Standish Management, LLC, designed for the summer of 2027. Standish Management provides specialized fund administration services for Managers and General Partners of various private equity funds, including Buy-out, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Fund-of-Funds. The company also offers consulting services to new General Partners to accelerate fund launches and provides administration services and technology to established General Partners to efficiently scale fund operations. This internship offers a critical opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the private equity and venture capital sectors through dedicated fund administration and partnership accounting work. Interns play a supportive role, contributing directly to the financial and administrative functions that underpin client success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Financial Operations: Provide assistance with preparing support schedules for financial statements and aid audit and tax teams, contributing to accurate reporting and compliance.
• Ensure Data Integrity: Perform precise data entry of financial and client information into the recordkeeping system, maintaining the accuracy essential for robust fund administration.
• Manage Documentation: Be responsible for systematically maintaining and updating various filing systems, ensuring all client and financial records are organized and readily accessible.
• Facilitate System Enhancements: Assist teams with ongoing data entry and systems conversion projects for new and existing clients, helping to optimize reporting technology.
• Identify and Resolve Discrepancies: Analyze client documents and reports to identify and address any financial or operational discrepancies, contributing to data accuracy and reliability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should possess knowledge of basic Accounting and Finance principles.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required.
• Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to multi-task while adhering to strict deadlines. Additionally, candidates must exhibit strong organizational skills, work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and independently.
• Bonus: Familiarity with QuickBooks software is considered a plus, though not a strict requirement.
