The Tone:
This is a 1ST SHIFT internship at Cobb, a prominent organization in the poultry production and live operations industry. The internship is offered across various facilities situated in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina, with an emphasis on candidates local to North Carolina or South Carolina for priority review. This role provides an essential opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience within critical areas of the poultry sector, including exposure to operational support departments. Interns are expected to contribute significantly through their innovative ideas and value creation, with the potential for high-performing individuals to secure full-time positions with Cobb following the internship.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Immersion: Engage directly within a variety of poultry production environments, gaining practical experience in different live operations settings across the company.
• Process Familiarization: Develop a deep understanding of the diverse stages and intricate parts of the overall poultry production process.
• Cross-functional Exposure: Acquire insights and experience within essential operation support departments, specifically including Safety and Quality Assurance protocols and practices.
• Strategic Contribution: Actively participate in projects and initiatives, leveraging fresh perspectives to introduce innovative ideas that enhance business operations and efficiency.
• Value Creation Initiatives: Drive value for the organization by successfully executing assigned tasks and contributing to the overall objectives of the internship program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level opportunity for candidates currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, requiring at least one semester of academic study remaining.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required; the focus is on academic enrollment. Preferred candidates are studying Agriculture, Poultry Operations, or other related agriculture fields.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, basic computer proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, effective time management and multitasking, and strong interpersonal skills. Candidates should be motivated self-starters with a desire to learn, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Bonus: Priority consideration for candidates local to North Carolina or South Carolina, and those pursuing degrees in Agriculture, Poultry Operations, or related fields. Applicants planning further education after graduation should highlight this on their resume.
