Operations Intern | CALSTART

This Operations Intern role is essential for providing foundational administrative support, ensuring the smooth functioning of internal processes. By managing documentation and improving internal communications, the intern directly contributes to CALSTART’s capacity to deliver its impactful work.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administrative Assistance: Provide critical administrative support for various operational tasks within the organization.
• Document Creation: Develop essential operational documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compelling presentations.
• Communication Management: Actively manage and maintain internal Teams channels and related communications to ensure smooth information flow.
• SharePoint Development: Design and create a new, organized SharePoint site to improve internal information access and collaboration.
• Structure Organization: Implement and refine the internal communications teams structure for enhanced clarity and operational efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should possess strong foundational skills in clear and effective written and verbal communication, which are crucial for developing diverse documents and managing internal communication channels. A high attention to detail and accuracy is required across all administrative and documentation tasks. The intern must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities across different functional areas, showcasing robust organizational capabilities. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction, exercising sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. Furthermore, a proactive communication style, including the ability to anticipate and flag issues early, is highly valued for team collaboration.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Skills: Proficiency in written communication for drafting documents; strong verbal communication for team interactions; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks; effective organizational skills for managing diverse responsibilities; ability to work independently; and proactive problem-solving, particularly in identifying and flagging issues.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. Exposure to project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) or CRM platforms like Salesforce.
