Job Description: Intern – Network Security (Software Engineering)
Juniper Networks is seeking students for Summer 2025 software engineering internships. The internship is project-based, allowing interns to contribute meaningfully to the company’s objectives.
Responsibilities and Project Areas: Vary by group but generally involve:
• Building (developing & testing) multi-service networking and network security products.
• Working on hardware and virtual/containerized systems that secure networks.
• Resolving internal and external customer issues.
• Interfacing with product management, QA, platform development, and other product development teams.
Required Background and Skills:
• Currently pursuing a MS or PhD in EE/CE/CS, graduating December 2023 or later.
• Strong programming fundamentals (C/C++, Python), including algorithm design and implementation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; team player.
• Ability to solve challenging problems creatively.
Preferred Qualifications and Interests:
• Familiarity with Routing protocols, Ethernet switching, IP forwarding, Class/Quality of service, Firewall & access control, TCP/IP, UDP.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of embedded systems.
• Working knowledge of hardware architecture.
• Experience leveraging open-source code.
• Experience with Virtual Machines.

Compensation:
Minimum Salary: $84,000.80
Maximum Salary: $120,750.55
The pay range is dependent on various factors including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. The position is at-will, and salary may be modified based on performance, company performance, and market factors.
