The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Forbright Bank, offered in a hybrid work arrangement with 4 days per week in-office in Chevy Chase, MD. This role supports the internal audit function, which is critical for ensuring sound business operations, regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls over financial reporting across the bank.

• Team: Reports to the VP of Internal Audit; collaborates with audit leadership and key stakeholders.
• Mission: This person supports the internal audit function by reviewing business operations, regulatory compliance, and internal financial reporting controls.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), AI tools, Data analytics tools.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Support the Internal Audit team in achieving departmental objectives within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Process Understanding: Participate in walkthroughs of key processes to gain a comprehensive understanding of the specific risks impacting controls and financial statements.
• Control Assessment: Conduct assessments of both the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, documenting all findings in clear and well-supported workpapers.
• Audit Execution: Assist in executing audits, including conducting interviews, analyzing procedures and controls, and preparing workpapers according to professional standards.
• Tool Development: Help develop and evaluate AI-enabled tools and agents specifically designed to improve audit planning, control testing, documentation, reporting, and risk identification activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level; currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or data analytics.
• Skills: Analytical thinking, Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), problem-solving, and clear communication.
• Bonus: Interest in or prior experience with banking or financial institutions.
