Intern: Corporate Development M&A | EquipmentShare
The Tone:
This is an internship at EquipmentShare, located in Columbia, MO. EquipmentShare is building technology to transform the construction industry, aiming to make it safer, more secure, and more productive for contractors and communities. This role offers hands-on experience in the full lifecycle of corporate development, from identifying potential acquisitions to executing deals. Interns will contribute to the company’s growth and make a tangible difference in an industry that’s long been resistant to change.

• Mission: Support the Corporate Development team in sourcing, executing, and integrating strategic acquisitions to grow the business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Sourcing: Research and identify potential acquisition targets in priority markets.
• Lead Generation: Engage directly with company owners, brokers, and bankers to establish relationships and explore opportunities.
• Deal Analysis: Assist in financial and market analysis for active transactions and support due diligence processes.
• Deal Tracking: Help prepare presentations, investment memos for executive review, and track the progress of active deals.
• Strategic Projects: Research industry trends, competitors, new markets, and contribute to cross-functional strategic initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career student actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum GPA of 3.5 and a willingness to cold call and engage directly with company owners and executives.
• Skills: Strong communication, analytical ability to interpret financial statements and market data, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Exposure to financial modeling.
