Construction Management Internship – Fall 2027 | Enerfab
The Tone:
This is a paid Construction Management Internship at Enerfab. Enerfab boasts over 120 years of experience, providing comprehensive fabrication and construction solutions to diverse customers across the chemical, food & beverage, oil & gas, heavy industrial, and power sectors. Since its founding in 1901, the company has evolved from making sealants for beer tanks to becoming an industry leader in shop fabrication, field erection, and construction and maintenance services, recognized for its expanded capabilities, project experience, safety record, and commitment to quality. This internship program, which has been active for over 40 years, is intentionally designed for mutual benefit, aiming to create a desirable workplace where future professionals can thrive and grow. What You’ll Actually Do
• Blueprint Interpretation: Utilize computer programs such as Bluebeam and CAD to effectively interpret and work with both 2D and 3D construction drawings.
• Project Documentation: Collaborate closely with the Project Team to identify, create, and produce project-specific technical and commercial documents crucial for the successful execution of active construction projects.
• Cost Development: Provide direct assistance to lead estimators, contributing to the development of detailed project estimates for new business opportunities.
• Submittal Processes: Prepare and provide appropriate documentation, which may include specific specifications, drawings, and detailed scopes of work, to support various departments during RFI and submittal processes.
• Project Finalization: Support comprehensive project closeout procedures by collecting necessary documents, reviewing change orders and modifications, ensuring all order specifications are met, and gathering key takeaways for future learning and improvement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires candidates to be currently enrolled in an accredited program and actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in either engineering or construction management.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency and practical experience with Windows applications, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities, exhibit a thorough and meticulous attention to detail, and maintain a high degree of self-motivation.
• Bonus: A strong desire to build a long-term career within the construction field, particularly focusing on industrial construction projects.
