The Tone:
This is an internship at GE Aerospace, located in various U.S. locations. GE Aerospace is a world-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft, dedicated to the future of safe and more sustainable flight. Successful interns will build relationships and prepare for potential full-time positions within the company.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, various U.S. locations
• Pay: $20 hourly
• Mission: Protect the health and safety of GE Aerospace employees and the public, and safeguard the environment from hazards within a supply chain/manufacturing context.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assess Hazards: Be involved in industrial hygiene and hazard assessments to identify potential risks within manufacturing operations.
• Develop Strategies: Contribute to the development and implementation of risk abatement strategies to mitigate identified hazards.
• Manage Environment: Support environmental management initiatives, including wastewater management, proper hazard and non-hazard waste disposal, and adherence to air regulations.
• Ensure Compliance: Work to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and understand GE Aerospace’s EHS management systems and framework.
• Promote Safety: Address ergonomics and general safety concerns, coaching employees and teams to develop sustainable processes and structures to meet EHS requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional pursuing a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor’s or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities/Maintenance, Occupational Safety and Health, or a relevant similar major. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required, with no sponsorship provided now or in the future, and access to U.S. export-controlled information is necessary, requiring U.S. Person status.
• Experience: Prior GE Aerospace internship experience is required, along with a minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
• Skills: Understanding of industrial hygiene and hazard assessment principles; knowledge of environmental management practices including waste and air regulations; and the ability to contribute to regulatory compliance and EHS management systems.
• Bonus: Preference will be given to those with prior internship, co-op, or military experience in manufacturing/supply chain or engineering. Candidates should be comfortable working in a shop floor environment and demonstrate qualities such as leadership ability, strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to community or university involvement.
