What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate with fellow team members and contribute to ongoing project work.
• Learn continuously and receive direct mentorship from experienced BGE employees in civil engineering.
• Attend and engage in specific internal events and training sessions designed to foster career development.
• Actively participate in dedicated intern-specific activities and programs organized by the company.
• Execute normal day-to-day work activities as assigned, supporting the public works team’s objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship for a full-time student actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. The required fields of study include Civil Engineering, Construction, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, or another closely related discipline relevant to civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience: Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency with standard business software, particularly Microsoft Office applications for various tasks. The ability and willingness to quickly learn and become proficient with industry-specific software is also essential for successful integration into project workflows.
• Skills: Strong verbal communication skills are necessary for clear reporting and team discussions. Excellent written communication skills in English are required for documentation and correspondence. The ability to work as a strong collaborator and effectively contribute within a team environment is critical. A willingness and capacity to commit to a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, is also a fundamental requirement for this role.
