Intern, Assurance Practice | BDO USA, PC

The Tone:
This is an internship at BDO USA, PC, located across various US cities. BDO is a firm where energetic self-starters are valued, providing assurance, tax, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients. As an Intern in the Assurance practice, you will apply your educational background and organizational skills to contribute to the firm’s dynamic client base. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on perspective on BDO’s practices, learn directly from experienced team members, and begin building critical professional relationships. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: various US locations
• Pay: $32.00/hr – $45.00/hr
• Mission: Assist in problem-solving and fact-finding within the Assurance practice, supporting audit staff and learning firm methodology.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
• Methodology: Become familiar with BDO specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Support: Provide various support functions to the audit staff during engagements.
• Communication: Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Documentation: Prepare and document work in working papers utilizing BDO specific tools and templates.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting, actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting, leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to follow instructions as directed, ability to work effectively in a team setting, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
