The Tone:
This is a co-op program at Merck, located in Rahway, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement. This role within the Corporate Audit and Assurance Services team is crucial for bringing financial perspectives into strategic decisions, helping to solve vital business needs, and enhancing internal controls, compliance, and risk management across global healthcare systems. Through this program, individuals will gain an understanding of Merck’s purpose and global business operations.

• Mission: To support Merck’s purpose by participating in audit projects, understanding global business operations, and applying data analytics to enhance financial strategy and risk management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Work across the company developing and leveraging a network of relationships with finance and business functions to achieve high-level business insights.
• Audit: Evaluate business operations, processes, and internal controls to effectively complete risk-based audits.
• Analyze: Use data analytics to gain insights into business practices and the execution of the company’s strategy.
• Advise: Act as a trusted advisor, supporting the enterprise via advisory engagements and critically problem-solving business challenges.
• Present: Prepare and deliver presentations to both peers and leaders, sharing successes and lessons learned from engagements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for current Sophomores enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accountancy, or Business Analytics.
• Experience: Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, along with a dedication to teamwork and demonstrated leadership.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, excellent interpersonal skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, strong time management skills, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: GPA of 3.3 or above; previous internship or work experience in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics.
